    Explanation

    Compare the layout of the same data and the insane length of the scroll bar in the new view. In the old view I was able to quickly glance over the work items and make sense. Work authors are next to work authors and descriptions next to descriptions. Time spent is next to time spent and work type next to work type. This way I can easily see what else was worked on, if I already have added my spent time, etc.

    In the new view I do require so many more clicks to get the same view:

    • Up to 4 additional clicks to hide the activity stream of non time tracking options. If time tracking was not shown and all others were it is 4 clicks: 3 to hide the others, 1 to show.
    • 1 click to get to the add work item view (which was also 1 click before to get to the time tracking tab)

    Also the layout of the work items is now completly off in my eyes from a UX sense. The old one followed this structure

    [Me] [When did I work] [What did I do] [How long did it take] [Category]

    The new one is not only spread over 3 rows instead of 1 but it's structure reads for me for me now as

    [Me] [When did I work] [LINEBREAK]
    [Category ?] [How long did it take?] [LINEBREAK]
    [What did I do]

    And as I answer the question "what did I do" mentally after I add how long it took, it feels wrong for me and requires a mental context switch. Also Category is at least in our case in 99% competly unimportant and only there for statistic analysis. It has to be set to analyze the work items but provides little other information. I assume this to be similar for other users. Also the linebreaks interrupt my mental flow.

    Also in our case many work items only contain a short comment. Longer comments are already part of the comments section and we would not duplicate this information. I can understand that others might have commented little and added most comments as part of work items, which I'd understand as well, but I am not sure which type of user group in this case is more common.

    In the past I just gone to "Issues" -> by me, now this option is gone and I cannot see my opened issues, which is really bad.
    I don't want to use your 10000 options filtering, I just want to see my issues simpler and clear.

    It's hard to understand if a bug is closed from its title in the dark theme. It seems it could be better if the title were darker.

    STR:

    1. Create an issue in a project with time tracking enabled
    2. Add some work items - now you have several work items displayed in the time tracking tab and spent time field specified accordingly
    3. Clone issue
    4. Check cloned issue work items

    ER: no work items, spent time field is reset
    AR: work items are copied from the initial issue, spent time field is reset

    1. Delete the cloned issue
    2. Go to the initial issue, check its work items

    ER: Work items are still there, spent time field is unchanged
    AR: No work items left in the time tracking tab, spent time field is unchanged

    Reproduced only on 2018.3
    2018.2 works as expected

    The standalone youtrack is unable to connect to VCS systems (github and bitbucked were tried)

    Steps to reproduce are awfully generic, so I guess it won't help much but nonetheless:

    1. GET youtrack/admin/vcs
    2. try to add VCS

    The problem is non-representative error message and inability to connect to VCS of my choosing too.

    I tried this with SELinux on and off (my first thought) -- does not make a difference.

    I uploaded the detailed logs to https://uploads.services.jetbrains.com/ : filename istolpov-vcs-issue-youtrack-logs.tar.gz
    Those logs were collected with -Djavax.net.debug=ssl because of SSL frames present in the error stack, thought it would help me but alas.
    Maybe it will help you somewhat.

    4. Copy YouTrack-2018.2.jar to Bitnami\youtrack-<old-version>\apps\youtrack
    5. Rename Bitnami\youtrack-<old-version>\apps\youtrack\youtrack.jar to youtrack-<old-version>.jar
    6. Rename youtrack-2018.2.jar to youtrack.jar
    7. Restart Apache and YouTrack via Bitnami (using Bitnami\youtrack-2017.2.32582-5\manager-windows.exe)

    What is the expected result?
    Youtrack service should start again with version 2018.2

    Youtrack starts and stops after a brief moment

    If you use 2018.1 instead, everything works fine. I have also done this before successfully with 2017.3, so it has something to do with 2018.2. I am not sure if this is related to bitnami or not.
