From a customer's feedback:
Since we upgraded to 4.0 (we are currently running 4.0.1), we have the following issue with email notifications:
The option "Receive notification when my issue is noticed by the project team" is unchecked in every team member profile. It is checked in the profile of the user who creates most of these issues, although I'm not sure why that would cause emails to be sent to the assignees.
- A user creates an issue.
- That user assigns the issue to a member of the project team.
- The team member looks at the issue.
- The team member (as opposed to the user who created the issue) receives a notification saying that he has looked at the issue. Strangely, this email is addressed to the user–i.e., "So-and-so has looked at the issue you created."
